Children’s Dignity Forum (CDF) is a network of local CSOs that also provides direct services focused on advancing girl’s’ empowerment, child protection, and gender justice through evidence-based, community-led approaches.
CDF works across six thematic areas including sexual and reproductive health, child participation, access to justice, and men and boys’ engagement.
CDF integrates lived experience and social norms research into programme design. Their work spans peer-to-peer data collection, capacity-building of Police Gender and Children’s Desks, and the adaptation of proven models like the Good School Toolkit and Skills for Parenting to the Tanzanian context. They collaborate closely with communities, government ministries, and through their network of 87 organisations to promote accountability, sustainability, and rights-based change.
Initially targeting children up to 18 years, CDF has since shifted focus to girls and young women (10-24) and engaged boys and men. They have trained over 1,400 girls in sexual and reproductive health, life skills, and rights; engaged 500+ boys and men as rights advocates. They operate 28 community clubs with sustained monthly activities and leadership.
