For Our Children

FoC was founded in 1992 and is the largest provider of humanitarian and developmental support for children in Bulgaria.

Their initiatives have reached thousands of children and families across the country, with services provided through Early Childhood Development Complexes in Sofia (mother-baby centre) and Plovdiv (small scale residential care)

For Our Children has five main pillars of work:

• Early Childhood Intervention: This program supports children with developmental delays or disabilities by providing specialised services such as therapy and counselling to promote optimal development.
• Prevention of Child Abandonment: The foundation works to prevent the abandonment of babies and young children by offering support to at-risk families, including counselling, financial assistance, and parenting education.
• Foster Care Services: For Our Children recruits, trains, and supports foster families to provide temporary care for children who cannot stay with their biological families, aiming for children to have a safe and nurturing environment.
• Children’s House: This temporary home offers care for babies and young children (up to 3 years old) awaiting placement in a family environment, providing a safe and supportive setting during the transition.
• Advocacy and Research: The organisation engages in advocacy efforts to influence child protection policies and conducts research to inform best practices in child welfare
