
Pendekezo Letu (PKL) was founded in May 1997
PKL Kenya works with street connected children and their families/ caregivers on prevention, rehabilitation and reintegration. They provide family strengthening for those already outside of family care or in complex families, and run a ten-month residential project for girls. The residential programme focuses on education, psycho-social support and rehabilitation to ensure the safe reintegration of up to 100 girls a year back into families and schools.
At the same centre PKL run a life skills training course for teenage single mothers. This includes childminder support and support to build a positive bond between the mother and child to prevent child abandonment.
