SUKA Society is a child rights organisation focused on protecting and empowering vulnerable children, particularly refugee, asylum-seeking and stateless children, as well as survivors of trafficking.
Its work combines direct service delivery, including community-based learning, psychosocial support, rehabilitation and life-skills training, with advocacy, safeguarding training and systems strengthening to promote child protection, inclusion and community-based care in Malaysia.
SUKA has also developed alternatives to immigration detention for refugee and stateless children, including community placement and foster care models that place unaccompanied children with families from their own community and cultural background rather than leaving them in detention.
