Wote Sawa is a Tanzanian organisation focused on combating child trafficking, domestic servitude, and child labour, while promoting safe, family-based care alternatives.
They provide a range of direct services including community education, stakeholder capacity building, and individual case support through safehouses, family tracing, and reintegration.
They address the root causes of child separation, particularly poverty, through family livelihood support, parenting programmes, and school reintegration. Wote Sawa works closely with government bodies, including local social welfare offices and Police Gender and Children’s Desks, to coordinate protective services and improve systemic responses for children on the move and survivors of exploitation.
In 2024 Wote Sawa reintegrated 100 children into families. They track the children they reintegrate and engage the community and school in the reintegration process because it promotes better sustainability. Wote Sawa serves child domestic workers aged 10–17, with an extended support scope that includes adult women up to 40 and increasingly they are seeing more cases involving boys. Wote Sawa has 3 safehouses in Mwanza (21 children); Kigoma (20 children); Kigoma (34 children).
