No child should be in an emergency situations to start 2024.

Please help us do all we can to support those that are.

All children should be able to enjoy the warmth of a loving home and family, at all times of the year. Unfortunately, for so many this will remain a faraway dream throughout 2024.

With this appeal, we are kicking off 2024 and would like to ask you to help support the children and families who find themselves trapped in the midst of an emergency.  Across the world, children always pay the highest price in emergency situations, especially in conflicts such as those in the Middle East and Ukraine. They need our support, now more than ever.

A donation to this appeal will help us support more children, now and throughout the whole year.

Looking ahead into 2024

  • As a global alliance, we are striving to make 2024 bigger and more impactful than ever before. As our network of civil society organisations continues to grow, we are working collaboratively to increase our impact for children and families worldwide, thanks to our generous donors.

  • In 2024, you will see our New Zealand programme grow, with more local advocacy work and impact for care-experienced tamariki and rangatahi in Aotearoa.

  • Blue Umbrella Day is coming back in April, raising awareness for and preventing sexual violence against boys and young men, and we’re planning the biggest global campaign to date.

  • The first ever global guidance on Kinship Care will launch in January, meaning that thousands of child care practitioners will be able to seek the support they need to make Kinship Care a reality.

  • We’re planning a Children on the Move campaign in October to ensure those children forced to flee around the world are protected en route to their destination.

  • We will work to further strengthen our humanitarian crisis response, with a new initiative launching early in the new year. Our structure, which combines a wide geographic reach with deep local roots, means that we are well-placed to take swift and effective action when needed.

  • We are already experienced in local, national and regional advocacy. Next year, we will build on this to develop our global-level advocacy; focusing on decolonisation and the role of local civil society organisations in humanitarian contexts. Our newly-attained United Nations consultative status at the Economic and Social Counil (ECOSOC) will play an important role in this advocacy work by providing a high-level platform through which we can speak to people in power.

Please help us do all we can to support those that are.
