Dear readers,
Hello and welcome to the latest edition of Family Matters, our magazine for our wonderful supporters.
If you have been involved with Family for some time, you will know that we work in a range of different ways to make life better for children and families. Our global network of member organisations undertakes research, shares practice, runs campaigns, directly supports children and families, and provides vital aid in emergencies. Independently, all of this work is crucial – but the different actions can also work together to deliver real, tangible and long-lasting change.
Our recent success in Zimbabwe highlights why this holistic approach is so important. Through our network’s ability to collaborate on a global scale, we’ve been able to impact and shape a major new law. This bill will better protect children in a myriad of ways, ultimately improving lives for years to come. How did we do it? Well, our research gave us the evidence we needed to lobby people in power. Our insight from working day-to-day in local communities helped us to truly understand what matters to people. Finally, our advocacy and campaigning meant we could amplify the voices of those who often go unheard. Combined, all of this work helped us influence this bill amendment for children – and it was made possible through generous donors like you.
Inside this issue, you can also find out how our Ukraine appeal has given a young family the chance for a new life, and read about this year’s Blue Umbrella Day campaign. Together, we’re shaping a global fight against sexual violence affecting boys.
Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for continuing to support our work. It means the world to us.

Chair of the Board
