Big challenges need big ideas. This month, our participatory research work with children on the move has been featured by US-based advocacy organisation ‘First Focus’, as part of their ‘Big Ideas 2023’ journal.
The publication shares innovative solutions to issues such as child homelessness, education reform, economic justice, and children’s health care from scholars, advocates, and other experts from leading organisations around the USA. This year, for the first time, the journal also branches into the international sector, elevating the voice and vision of migrant youth and discussing ways to educate children in the midst of conflict or disaster.
Alongside a diverse range of other articles, Family for Every Child’s contribution shares insights from our participatory research project ‘How Courageous We Had to Be’. It outlines our approach to working with children and young people with experience of migration themselves, and shares their ideas for what needs to be improved in support for people on the move.
