Navigating a global pandemic
Amid the global chaos of Covid-19, our amazing supporters stepped up. Their contributions to our Covid-19 emergency fund allowed us to respond quickly, offering tailored help to families and kids worldwide.
Our locally-rooted international alliance orchestrated a major coordination effort, addressing diverse needs in individual countries. From delivering meals to over 700 street children in India, to providing homeless refugee children in Greece with shelter, to disinfecting homes for the poorest families in Lebanon, to delivering educational support, mental health interventions, and domestic violence prevention in multiple communities – our approach was nuanced and contextspecific. The pandemic demanded new front-line approaches, pushing us to adapt to evolving needs and restrictions.
Sharing ideas became crucial. Through our ‘How We Care’ website, we’ve swapped tips from Greece to Guatemala – supporting home learning, setting up phone helplines, and doing impact surveys during lockdown. In the face of adversity, our alliance model remained resilient, connecting communities worldwide with shared solutions for the well-being of children and families.
