Taking action for children on the move
In a world where over 50 million children and young people are on the move, we’ve rolled up our sleeves over the last ten years to make sure that those reached by our member organisations get the support and family life that they deserve. Whether driven by the pursuit of better opportunities or forced by conflict and disasters, children who find themselves living life on the move are often separated from their families. This instantly puts them at risk.
This is where we come in. In seven countries, we’ve been campaigning to address the root causes of family separation with the ambition that every child on the move will one day experience the security of a caring family environment. This involves both efforts to prevent family separation in the first place, as well as aiding the reintegration of children who have been separated.
Globally, we share practical ideas and insights, too. Our ‘Supporting Integration’ toolkit is a resource born out of a three-year project focused on child migrants from the Middle East to Europe. It shares valuable guidance for practitioners, promoting best practices to enhance integration support and services.

From 10-13 September, this new annual campaign aimed to reduce the risk of statelessness and its impact on children’s lives.
Together with our members around the world, we piloted this new initiative in 2024. Based on our research and expertise gathered from supporting vulnerable children on the move, we will continue to grow this global campaign to raise awareness.
