Pioneering child protection in the Middle-East
The Jordan River Foundation (JRF) envisions a Jordan where solutions are homegrown, where the opportunity to prosper is for all, and where the wellbeing of Jordanian children shapes society’s future.
Established in 1995 by Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah, JRF’s overall aim is to promote child safety and empower communities.
JRF focuses its efforts on ensuring child safety and child-focused interventions. It spearheaded the launch of an independent child protection system in 1997 and Jordan became the first country in the region to address the taboo topic of child abuse.
Prevention and intervention services are provided by JRF’s Jordan River for Child Safety Program (JRCSP).
It strives to strengthen positive healthy interactions between family members, improve child protection, lower the rates of violence, secure comprehensive rehabilitation services for child victims of violence and raise the capacity of other child rights and protection organisations nationally through exchange of experiences, education and training.
